son|net «SON iht», noun, verb, -et|ed, -et|ing or (especially British) -et|ted, -et|ting.

a poem having 14 lines, usually in iambic pentameter, and a formal arrangement of rhymes. Elizabethan and Italian sonnets differ in the arrangement of the rhymes.

to compose sonnets.

to celebrate in a sonnet or sonnets.
